Why was julius caesar inated?

A. The 'ideal' of a Roman Republic comes from Shakespeare's story. Far from being anything like democracy, the Senate were the real rulers of the Republic; representing the wealthiest and most privileged families of Rome. Only 70 of the 700 Senators were in on the plot to asinate Ceasar, which came up after it was found he sought to clean up corruption in the Senate.
