I think your friends have much bigger problems than you wanting to go on holiday with them. It sounds like they are angry, frustrated and need to get the spine to stand up to his mother, and are just taking it out on you. As much as it sucks, you don't need that kind of drama in your life, so give them a lot of space, and see how things go on.
