To the trafford centre from chorley ?? x?

Hi, me and my friend need to get to the trafford centre from chorley oj thursday, but we cant go by car and that leaves us with trains and buses, but i have no idea whatsoever how to get there. is there a train station near to the trafford centre? please help? and if possible could you tell me the prices too, but im not that bothered about the price.thanks x
